Wedding Invites

I'm so excited to share a little peak into our amazing wedding invitations with you today! Our amazing designer and my close friend, Shannon LaBare has a whole post featuring the invites on her blog so be sure to check out the entire feature HERE. P.S. She also has TONS more photos taken by the amazing Becca Rillo!

The main concept for the invites was to have lots of fun details and incorporate my love for books somehow with our garden backyard themed wedding. Sounds difficult - but Shannon did an amazing job connecting all my eclectic ideas into one seamless concept. I was so in love with the outcome!

One of my favorite parts was the use of stamps. Shannon designed a monogram logo for us and created 2 different sized stamps, and she even created the actual invite info into a giant custom stamp to emulate a typewriter look. Swoon!

Ok, just go over to her blog and read all the amazing commentary she gives - she's way better at it than me =)

DIY: Teeny Tiny Postcards!

A couple years ago, I stumbled across Lea Redmond's amazing site Leafcutter Designs. I quickly became enamored with her store of little treasures and ordered a letter for my then bf (Mr. H) from "The World's Smallest Post Office"  - I thought it was the coolest thing EVER!!

Strawberry Summer

So I'm watching these two girls for the past couple of weeks and we are having tons of adventures together! Last night we got like $50 worth of strawberries and pureed (sp?) them and made smoothies with just fresh strawberries, ice, and some lemons. They were seriously sooo good and fresh - it definitely started to feel like summer! Now, all I can think about is making more this evening =) How are you all kicking off your summer??

Wedding Initial DIY

Today marks exactly 1 month until I marry the man of my dreams and my best friend, Mr. H! I am getting super excited and having a blast making a ton of little details for our big day. In light of the fact that I always refer to my hubby-to be as "Mr. H" here on the blog, I thought it would be fun to show you all a little DIY I did using the H initial. We're actually using our initials a lot throughout the whole wedding and I can't wait to show you photos!!!

So, sorry I don't have step by step photos... I wasn't really planning on doing a DIY while I was making this! But it is seriously  so simple - you guys are so great, you wont even need it =)

{S U P P L I E S }
yarn
wooden letter - any size will work
hot glue
fabric scraps, buttons, antique brooches, etc

{ S T E P S }
1. Take your wooden letter and dab a spot of glue at the bottom back corner, wherever that may be on your letter and wrap around. You can do it tightly like mine, or more lose - just do whatever look your going for! Every so often I would just put a little line of more glue to make sure it all holds in place. You can use different colors or one color. I used a ball of yarn that changed colors throughout so I wouldn't have to start and stop as much.
2. Adorn away! You can add fabric flowers, bows, you could even take those old earrings that you only have 1 of to spice up your letter.
3. That's it! We're placing ours at our dessert table (most likely) and then hopefully using as decor in our apt!

Wood Flowers?!

So today I had my very first bridal shower. It was so sweet and nice - put on by the lovely ladies I work with, and even my mom was able to come out! It was so fun to be surrounded by others who believe in Mr. H and I and it definitely made this experience feel really real! Anyways, I'm obsessed with balsa wood right now. I mean, c'mon - how cool are these - they don't look like wood at all! Originally I was doing mostly fabric and paper flowers... but now I want balsa :: and lots of it!!

Watercolor Love

images via top here & bottom here
I have been obsessed with watercolor lately - watercolor prints, DIYs, fabrics, you name it! So I have big plans to incorporate watercolor into my Tasteful Tatters branding this summer. As many of you know, my shop is temporarily closed due to my wedding coming up - but that doesn't mean that I'm completely not working on it. In fact, when it re-opens I have a lot of fun surprises in store for everyone :: one of which includes a website face-lift!! I'm beyond excited. To give you a little teaser - I recently re-did my business cards to incorporate the new watercolor look. Here is a sneak peak  and happy Tuesday!

Among the Land of the Living

So today is my first day back in action after my no good terrible week of sickness. It was seriously awful. I don't remember being that sick in forever. At least I got it all out of my system before the Big Day!! If you follow me on Twitter you probably saw my "staying positive" tweets all week about watching I Love Lucy, and getting a sick pack from all the coughing haha. So in light of the trying- to- stay- positive- outlook, I thought I'd share with you a BEAUTIFUL inspiration color board that seriously just makes me happy looking at it - made by one of my new fav blogs, Postcards and Pretties. If you love weddings - you definitely need to check it out =)

On Being Sick

First I was moving, and huge promises of being back better than ever - and now I'm sick. Like super sick. And I wish I looked half as cute as this little guy here. I definitely don't. So I'm sorry from the lack of posts. I'm just going to try and focus on getting better and then I'll be back! Love you all!

Wedding Invites: Check!

So I am in bed for day 2 now with being sick. I hate being in bed all day. My head is spinning - mostly because of my fever, but also because I can't stop thinking about ALL that I have to be doing right now. I had a full day of stuff to do yesterday - all gone down the drain now. So in light of trying to stay positive I decided to think about what I have accomplished (before I got sick) and one of those things, was finishing my wedding invitations!! WooHoo! ( you may have remembered my inspiration post here) So I'm trying to just focus on that and that the other stuff will eventually get done. It always does. So here is a sneak peak of our invites - designed by the amazing Shannon LaBare. I know we'll have more profesh ones later - but here is just a taste of the brilliance she came up with from my schizophrenic ideas!

Babiekins Magazine Feature

I am BEYOND excited to share these images with you today! Late last night when I finally saw them, I almost cried I was so happy (that could also be because I'm super emotional that my wedding is less than 2 months away and I'm just downright exhausted haha) but nonetheless I'm overjoyed with how Allie Lindsey Photography captured my Baby Tatters. This shoot in particular was featured in the latest issue of Babiekins Magazine. The MOST fashionable children's mag out there - let me tell you! Be sure to check out their online mag and keep your eye out for some Tatters! The Baby Tatters will be available for purchase The first week of July at the shop. Now for the eye candy =)

We're Movin' Along 2011

So April came and went. And I'm not sure where I was or what I was doing, but apparently I missed it! Why is life going so quickly!? Anyways, a lot did happen in April and apparently I was doing a lot =) One thing in particular, I moved! Into mine and Mr. H's brand spankin' new apartment yippee. Now, that I'm getting settled the only thing I can think about is how I will decorate! And if you follow me on Pinterest at all, you probably saw this post coming =) Here are my thoughts and ideas for our bedroom...

via design-seeds.com
So this is my idea for our bedroom color palette - with maybe just a few touches of mustard yellow =) What do ya think?? Cool and serene? And I REALLY want to do one wall of stripes behind the headboard! Anyone have any good tips or tricks on how to do this well?

And I'm kinda.. ok a lot in love with this headboard... ooh Mr. H.... =)

And maybe Mrs. Shannon LaBare would want to make me one of these signs?? Haha, pretty please!
