Happy Monday Bloggers! This DIY is so fun and easy and a great tool for Spring. Brought to us by the ever so wonderful Cathe Holden over at JSIM - LOVE HER!
With Easter just around the corner, flowers in bloom, and warmer evenings, what better time to send a little springy cheer to a loved one or a friend who lives far away just to let them know you care.
Items Needed:
* Seam roller (used for wallpapering, can be found at a local hardware store)
* foam sheet/grocery store produce rubberband (pictured)
* spray adhesive/strong glue of some sort
* Xacto knife
* ruler
So easy and inexpensive, right? Now hold your seat belts when you see how easy this is!

Something Blue: Spring Inspirations
Yay! It's the first of many Something Blue posts and I am so excited to share this with you because it is just so stinkin' fun.
I met Kristin when she emailed me asking to come up with some design inspirations for her wedding this coming year. She is just so fun and personable with a fresh style and I cannot wait to see her wedding come to fuition with bits of my inspirations infused.
I came up with three completely different looks for Kristin based on her different likes, tastes, and specifications for her to just take and use different elements in whatever way she wants. Her wedding will be in Ohio and she wants lots of color with an Anthropologie style feel to it.

Here are the color palettes I went with:
Ink & Peonies
Country Chic
Wine Country

New Blog Design!
Welcome to the NEW BLOG! I am beyond pumped to share it with you all!! A special thanks to Lindsay Pruitt of Busy Thoughts who did such an amazing job taking all my random ideas and inspirations and turning it into reality. She really did all the hard stuff and she is amazing to work with! Just to give you a lay of the land - there are a few changes and additions which I heart to no end.
DIY - this one is pretty self explanatory. I have been doing "Do It Yourself" posts for awhile now and they basically are fun craft ideas that include instructions on how to make it at home. These projects are usually quick and easy, yet super fun and fabulous so keep your eye out for them and be sure to check out the ones you may have missed.
Hearted - This button will take you to all the posts about things that inspire me or something I just love. Being pretty immersed in the blogging world I come across so many fabulous things/links/photographs/inspirations/etc that I just have to share them with you. Sometimes this will be a link to something awesome happening or just a fun picture to share - basically anything amazing I feel worth sharing to you all!
Something Blue - I am now combining my "Something Blue" wedding design and inspiration blog here and all wedding related posts will be posted under the Something Blue "button" I did this because it was just too hard and confusing to have 2 blogs and some people didn't know that I was the same person for both blog and for better communication all around and some continuity it will all be here! I hope you like the new edition. I do a lot of wedding design and some coordination so shoot me an email if you are getting married and need some help!
Tasteful - I have an etsy shop called Tasteful Tatters as well as a website for the store and I'm always creating new pieces or getting feedback on a new idea and this is where I'll post anything related to Tasteful Tatters. I'll also be posting some awesome store giveaways here, so be sure to check those out!
Freebie Friday - The name says it all. Every Friday (as best as I can) there will be a post with something FREE. Did you hear that? FREE!
Road Trip - This section is anything related to my personal life. The way I see it, we're all on this long journey called life together and we are all experiecing different things at different times and sometimes those things connect. There are ups and downs and these posts will be a little glimps into the road trip of my life. I hope you enjoy!

Road Trip: Farmers Market
This weekend was absolutely beautiful! I love love love spring. And since I had the busiest week of my life (not really, but it felt like) Andy and I decided to head out to the local farmers market to stock up on some organic fruit and veggies and anything else fun we found =) I just love farmers markets and what they stand for. I strongly believe in supporting local growers and after watching Food Inc. (which I highly recommend) I think it is so much more important today to do that. Anyways, after picking up some amazing produce we decided to go for a drive down this road by the house that we always pass and as we pass we always say, we should take a drive down there is looks cool... and we never do haha. We heard that it is this winding road that goes all through the country side and there are all these awesome ranches and farms and horses and trees and mansions and everything fabulous apparently!
As we were driving, the greeness of all the hills and trees was just breathtaking! So naturally, I whipped out my camera to document this beautiful scenery. While looking at my photos it looked so "typical landscape" but what I saw through my eyes was sooo beautiful and almost blurry because we were driving so fast so I thought, what if I just turn my automatic focus off and just capture the view as I was seeing it. Now, you may think this is strange and perhaps goes against everything you learned haha... but I think the images turned out fabulously!
I hope you enjoy! And if you're ever in the area, let me know and I'll take you for a drive =)
So here is what I call "blurry"

Hearted: Art That Helps Inspiratons
Many of you may remember that I am participating in an online art project started by Promise Tangeman that I blogged about HERE - basically she has a friend that started a non-profit and Promise got together a bunch of creative people who also have an etsy shop. All of "us" were to create a piece that we came up with when we think of words like humility, sacrifice, helping others, love wins, Haiti, etc. Then, Promise is combining all the pieces and we're going to sell them through our shops raising money to a Haiti relief fund. We also were only allowed to use 4 specific colors. Cool huh? You can read more of the specifics on the post above. Before creating my piece I decided to just google some of the images above to see what inspired me! Soon, I'll show you what I come up with! What do you think of when you hear these words?

"Under Construction"

Very exciting news up ahead! I know my blog has been in and out of transformations the past couple months (so against everything I learned as a Marketing major for 2 years) but I'm going to be completely honest with you all... that is because I had no idea what I was doing! Who am I kidding, I'm not a web designer, I'll never understand HTML no matter how hard I try or read tutorials. It is best to just leave that to the professionals. Sooooo, for the last time (hopefully for a long while) my blog is being COMPLETELY re-done and I could not be more excited. For 2 reasons mostly. 1) I love change. I love everything about it - enough said. 2) My old time friend Lindsay is doing the re-design! She recently got into blog/web design and she is AMAZING!! You should definitely check out some of her work here! And this my friends is why you see the picture above. I feel like the guy on the right just telling her all my crazy ideas and then changing my mind and then giving her more crazy requests haha and she is seriously one of the greatest people to work with - I feel like I've done no work at all!
I'm shooting to have the launch next Wednesday - so mark your calendars for all kinds of fabulousness!

Freebie Friday
This Freebie - is half Freebie/half DIY, but double the fun right? I am sooo excited for this project I seriously want to make this this weekend if I ever get a free second =)
Today's Freebie is brought to us from Just Something I Made (Love her, love her blog) And the best part about this is - anyone can do it! Just a little modge podge and a canvas and you have yourself wall art.
I love how it has a "vintagy" feel yet it is still unique and not just like everything else that is "vintage" right now. You know? I love the fact that it is from vintage playing cards - how stinkin' cool is that? To Download the actual PDF so wonderfully made for us already to craft click HERE

If you make this, send me a pic I'd love to see you're own flair added to it!

So Many Projects!!

Ok so fiiirsst! Next week is the launch of my Tasteful Tatters Spring line!! WooHoo! I seriously can't wait to show you all all the yummy spring stuff I have ready from Tasteful. The pieces will officially launch Friday, the 5th on TastefulTatters{dot}com and then on Monday, the 8th the pieces will be available on my Etsy site. Here are a few shots of some of the lovies that will be featured on the store. Be sure to keep an eye out for the Boutique I'm hosting in Santa Clarita on April 30th (More to come on that later)

Next up we have phase 2 of the 500 Colored Pencil art project I have been apart of. Basically every month I receive a new colored pencil with a fabulous name haha and I do something creative about it and share my experience in a story written in the said colored pencil and submit it to With A Pencil In My Pocket where about 100 other artists will have their stories with their colored pencil - awesome right? You can find all my entries by finding my name {Emilee S.} on the right hand side. Lea updates them every month. Be sure to check out for mine for February-March with the color Pastel Turquoise should be up there the end of March. Yay!

The next project is brought to you by Oh, Hello Friend ( Love her!) and it is simply that - a lovely package exchange. She is pairing up hundreds of bloggers to go out and put together a creative package and then wrap it up in the most oh so fabulous way you can and then send it off. Check out Danni's details here for further explanation. I'll be posting on here my inspirations and process of my little package as soon as I find out who I got!

And last but not least... I am so excited to announce that I will be a participating artist for Promise Tangeman's Art That Helps Project. About 20 artists who have an Etsy shop are coming together to create a design with the following colors that somehow embodies the ideas of Art for the greater good, Haiti, helping, serving, creativity, love wins, people, compassion, humble, humility.

Promise is then taking all of the designs to create a collaborate collage for us to sell on our Etsy site. We are working with an organization called A Beautiful Idea started by Evie from Evie-s. All of the proceeds are going to help the people of Haiti. How awesome is that!? I will also be blogging about my process and inspirations for creating this piece.
Thanks for listening and can't wait to hear your ideas and thoughts on any of these projects
