Tasteful: Summer Shop Trade!

I am very excited to announce that my Etsy shop, Tasteful Tatters is participating in Danni from Oh, Hello Friend's Summer Trade. This is my first experience in this and I didn't really know what to expect haha. It just started and I've already gotten tons of trade requests! WooHoo!

It has been so wonderful to receive all the sweet emails from other Etsy sellers and then to see all the amazing creative products that they make - sheesh - it's like inspiration overload and I LOVE it! So with that in mind, if you have an Etsy shop and missed out on the fabulous Summer Trade - you are more than welcome to email or comment here if you're interested in doing a trade with me - I've even created a few pieces (coming out next week) specifically for the season of summer and trading =) So let me know and I'm sure I'd love to do a trade. Freebie Friday: Book Plates

It's Friday!! I don't know about you guys, but it has been one heck of a week - phew! One of the things I love best about weekends, besides being able to catch up with friends and relax a little, is reading. I love to read and during the week I sometimes get so bogged down with work that reading becomes 2nd priority. I'm currently reading A Tree Grows In Brooklyn and I am LOVING it! What books are you guys reading? I'm always curious to learn about new book recommendations =)

Today I give you these lovely designed book plates to place inside your favs so no one takes it! And just because they are absolutely adorable. A special thanks to Image Zoo for having them up for the taking!

Tasteful: TT Photo Shoot

Happy Monday! Last week I got the opportunity to spend the afternoon with 2 fabulous ladies to shoot some new pieces for my Etsy shop, Tasteful Tatters. I'm really excited for some of my new summer stuff. We have new roses, new necklace, some funky eye glasses necklaces, new headbands and belts - you name it! These gals were working the camera and we had sooo much fun. Jamie took us on this back road where we then proceeded to walk down this long path that took us to what looked like the middle of nowhere! We kept having to "chase the sun" because we were behind all these mountains... and then we got eaten alive by bugs. Needless to say, it was quite an adventure!

The best part was seeing my pieces on someone else besides me haha. I mean, when I make something of course I like it... but it is so encouraging to hear other people look at something and gasp "ooooo ahhhh" haha. Anways, if you get a chance check out the Shoppe and I hope you enjoy the pictures!

DIY Feature and New Website Launch

Today I have the honor of being the guest blogger on the fabulous blog Sweet Symphanie! Stephanie and I met through the blogosphere and we soon found out that she goes to the school I graduated from - Biola University - how cool is that?! Anyways, she had the BEST idea ever: a Summer Blog Party. Like Bloc Party... get it? Ha anyways, all week she's had guest bloggers writing about whatever it is that they do best - interior design, packaging, crafting, you name it and I get to do the DIY post! I decided to show the world how to make the easiest accessory ever. I love accessories. Making them. Wearing them. Buying them at Anthropologie on sale. :o)

Also... this coming Monday I will be launching for the first time ever my new photography website! This has been something that I have been thinking about for awhile but was just so unsure of myself and didn't know if I wanted to actually put my stuff out there for the world to see. I dunno, I'm weird. But recently at a Boutique that I was doing for Tasteful Tatters I met all these amazing people and they kept asking me if they could see my work online and they insisted I get a website. So call me a follower, but I finally did it! So be keeping your eye out for that on Monday - yay!

I have to say though that I would not have been able to do it without the amazing support of my family and friends as well as some pretty talented ladies. Lindsay Pruitt designed the site and Shannon Labare did all my branding and logo. They are amazing - you should check them out.

Hearted: Etsy Inspired Inspiration Board

Yay it's June!! This inspiration board was inspired partly by some fabulous finds on Etsy as well as a blog that I am just LOVING right now called Lemon and Raspberry. The author Amy is such an inspiration and so creative. So as a tribute to Amy and her beautiful blog, summer, craftiness, and just plain fun I give you my Lemon and Raspberry "Board of Fun!"

Meet Kate

This is Andy's niece Kate Leslie. She is just adorable. She is about 5 months old and is quite possibly the cutest thing EVER. I know everyone says that about their babies haha but she seriously is! I had the opportunity to do a little impromptu photo shoot with her when she was here visiting a little while ago and she definitely loves being in front of a camera =)
