Dream Like New York

Pretty subway floor

A couple of weeks ago I went to New York City. I was online one day with a friend and we found round trip tickets for about $200 and I thought that with the economy the way it is and airlines & hotels slashing prices I should take advantage and head to New York haha. I know, not the most logical thinking but I'm spontaneous and I've always wanted to go to New York =). I went for about 5 days with a few friends who I am also going to Nigeria with this summer and we had to most amazing time in the city. We stayed in Queens and went to Manhattan, Brooklyn, and everywhere in between. We ate hot dogs & gyros from street corner stands, shopped at every used bookstore possible, ate authentic Chinese food, got invited to an art gallery opening, saw the MET, drank coffee in central park, played with dinosaur bones at the Natural History Museum, discovered the BEST photography store EVER, and got lost in just about every possible way to do all of the above haha. We also rode the subway EVERYWHERE. I had so much fun doing this. I read, talked, took pictures, ate, read some more, and just people watched. I could have just rode the subway and ate and been a happy camper. Oh, I almost forgot! It snowed the second morning we were there... that was amazing! I loved the hustle and bustle of it all, people walking around on a mission in their couture boots. If it wasn't so stinkin' cold there, I could definitely see myself living there... we'll see, you never know where I'll end up! Here are a few pics of me and my friends on our trip, enjoy!

Hey Shorty, It's Your Birfday

Ok, so school has completely taken over my life (including my blog) if you couldn't tell with all my culture & media posts that I haven't had a chance to blog about my 22nd birthday that was over a month ago! I know, crazy. So here it is, better late then never.... I had such an amazing birthday first with being surprised by my Biola friends with a scavenger hunt, then a wonderful weekend away with my family, and then the next week a WHOLE weekend with my wonderful man at the Getty Villa in Malibu and other various spots along the way & of course, I have pictures! I've decided that 22 is not nearly excited and turning 21 however, it was so nice to share intimate moments with all the important people in my life. As I'm getting older and hopefully I'll eventually get wiser haha, I'm learning how important it is to keep awesome people close to you. People bring me so much joy and I've realized how much I depend on them in my life. So during the birthday celebrations I was reminded at how special all these people are to me and how thankful I am to have them in my life. So, all you special people out there, THANK YOU! You mean the world to me =)

Candice & Dominic

Last weekend my wonderful friend Candice got married in the northern Sacramento area. When she first got engaged she asked me to help her plan her wedding which I obviously jumped at the opportunity to. The hard part was, we were both here in Southern California and she wanted to get married in either Sacramento or Tahoe. I have very little knowledge of the NorCal region as far as vendors go but fortunately, I found the wonderful Monte Verde Inn that handled basically everything! It was sooo perfect and it had an amazing classy yet rustic feel to it. It fit Candice's personality perfectly. The nice part was, they also provided a coordinator to help with all the day of logistics which meant I could be the "friend" - this was so nice since I love Candice and enjoyed just being there for her as a friend on her special day. This also meant that I got to take so photos of the wedding. Speaking of photos... my amazing friends and myself ended up getting to the wedding a whole hour early! So, we decided to do our own little photo shoot down the road while the wedding party had theirs. A few of those photos might end up on here as well =) Enjoy!
